A PET pig has died in a north Queensland house fire, sparked by a domestic dispute.
It’s alleged a 38-year-old man set the Cooktown house on fire on Sunday afternoon, following an argument with a 33-year-old woman inside the home.
No one was home at the time of the fire, however the blaze completely destroyed the dwelling and as a result, the pet pig died.

A number of bystanders attempted to intervene, however, it will be alleged they were assaulted by the man.
The man has been charged with nine offences including arson, serious animal cruelty, one count each of common assault, going armed so as to cause fear, wilful damage, and unlawful stalking. and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
