PICS: Residents scramble to get ‘that shot’ as epic lightning storm strikes the Gold Coast
GOLD Coasters were treated to a spectacular lightning show on Tuesday as an intense electrical storm lashed parts of the city.

A line of severe storms first flared up inland, well west of the hinterland just after midday before marching east and impacting on Gold Coast suburbs around 4pm.
The centre of the cell that struck parts of the city swung just to north of Nerang before contracting offshore of Jacobs Well an hour later.
Hardest hit suburbs included Pacific Pines, Helensvale, Oxenford, Upper Coomera, Coomera, Santa Barbara and Hope Island.
The popular Facebook page Gold Coast Weather & News Together with an online following of close to 100,000 people was inundated with residents eager to share their photos and videos of the event.
