THE PRICKLY story of Piggie the stolen echidna continues, with a third man charged in relation to her mid-adventure.
She was taken under the cover of darkness from her nesting box at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS) on Saturday night, before being returned under a fence of the enclosure on Monday night.
A man was arrested shortly after and later charged with receiving tainted property and animal cruelty.

Jarrod Ronald Simmons briefly faced Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday and is expected to apply for bail today.
Late yesterday, a 25-year-old Tugun man was slapped with the same charges. He was ordered to front court on August 17.
While this morning, Police have confirmed a Surfers Paradise man, 20, has been charged with enter premises with intent and animal cruelty. He will appear in court on August 13.
It’s alleged three men had taken a selfie with the echidna.
It’s not known why Piggie was stolen or what happened to her during her almost 48-hour ordeal, but CWS chief vet Michael Pyne confirmed all her tests had come back clear.
