Pilot dies in glider crash near NSW-Queensland border

A MAN has died in a shocking glider crash near the NSW-Queensland border.

Just after 1.30pm on Monday, emergency services rushed to a rural property at Boggabilla, 2.5km from the border, following reports an aircraft had come down.

The pilot, and sole occupant, was found dead at the scene.


He is yet to be formally identified but he is believed to be aged 75 from Victoria.

A crime scene was established and an investigation is underway into the cause of the crash.

Local police are working with the Aviation Support Branch and other agencies.
