Pimpama townhouse fire deemed suspicious, police say

A HOUSE fire at Pimpama on Monday afternoon is being treated as suspicious, police say.

Around 3.30pm, emergency crews rushed to Oakwood Street after receiving reports a two-storey duplex was fully engulfed in fire.

Queensland fire crews managed to extinguish the flames, however the ground level of the townhouse was completely destroyed.

The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no one was injured, however two pets had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

It’s not yet known what sparked the blaze.

A crime scene has since been declared and investigations are underway.
