Pizza Hut accused of underpaying delivery drivers with dodgy contracts

Popular pizza chain Pizza Hut is under fire for allegedly underpaying their delivery drivers.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that new evidence has allegedly revealed that franchisees are using dodgy contracts to pay delivery drivers as little as $12 an hour without super or WorkCover.

The contract also allegedly states that the employee has to provide the car, pay for fuel, vehicle maintenance and insurance.

Under current EBA, delivery drivers at Pizza Hut should be paid $20.35 per hour if employed as a full-time worker or $25.44 per hour if employed as a casual worker.

Pizza Hut have denied using or knowing anything about the ‘dodgy’ contracts.
