Planned burn likely to cause smoke haze for northern Gold Coast

Northern Gold Coast residents are being warned of the possibility of smoke haze on Wednesday evening.

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will conduct a planned burn within the Hollywell area in the Pine Ridge Conservation Park in the early evening if the weather permits.

It warns, as a result, smoke may be seen across some northern suburbs.

Another planned burn will also continue in Gilston today.

City of Gold Coast started the burn around Kirribilli Park yesterday and that will extend through to Thursday.

GC Water has warned it will be using hydrants on Marriot Way, Highland Park and Worley Drive, Gilston for fire suppression activities.

It will also be accessing the site through Marriot Way Reserve Lot 303 Armstrong Way, between 2 Chevron Rise and 32 Marriot Way, Highland Park.
