PM confirms Queensland has hit 80 percent double vaccination

The Prime Minister has beaten the Queensland Premier to the punch in announcing a very important vaccine milestone.

As of yesterday’s vaccination figures, the Sunshine State has now officially reached the 80 per cent double dose vaccination mark.

Scott Morrison confirmed it in a tweet this morning, thanking everyone who came forward to get tested.

It comes as Queensland prepares to reopen its border to New South Wales, the ACT, Victoria and Adelaide from Monday.

Anyone will be able to come into the state provided they’re fully vaccinated and they test negative prior to arrival.

They will then also need to be tested on day five of being in the state.

The Prime Minister is also reminding everyone to get their booster jab if they’re due to ‘help Australia continue to safely reopen and stay safely open’.
