PM scores second highest approval rating in Newspoll

Good news for the Prime Minister this morning, with his personal approval rating soaring.

The latest Newspoll, published by the Australian, shows Scott Morrison has the backing of 68 percent of Australians – a figure not seen since 2008.

It’s the second highest approval rating of any Australian leader, since the Newspoll’s inception in the mid 1980s.

He’s also furthered his position as preferred Prime Minister, leading Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese 56 to 28 percent.

Though it’s not all good news – with the Coalition’s lead over Labor is now gone.

The Coalition has dropped one point, to be 50-50 with Labor two-party preferred.
