Pokemon Go finally launches in its founding country

The wait is finally over – Pokemon Go has finally launched in the country that founded the popular virtual creatures.

The smartphone app which has taken the US, Australia and New Zealand by storm since being launched on 6 July is now officially available for Apple and Android devices in Japan.

The launch has prompted Japanese authorities to issue a nine-point safety guide following ongoing safety fears in other countries.

Some of the points include warning people about the dangers of heatstroke as they walk around for long periods of time in the sun, being aware of natural disasters and urging users to register with cool names instead of real names.
