Police appeal after 12yo girl approached by teen

Police are appealing for witnesses after a child was approached at Jannali in the Sutherland Shire yesterday.

About 3.20pm (Wednesday 5 August 2015), a 12-year-old girl was walking on Box Road, Jannali, when a teenage boy approached her.

The teen reached out to the girl and spoke to her. She became afraid and called her mother, the teen then ran away.

About 9.30pm, later that day, the incident was reported to police.

Officers from Sutherland Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and a teenage boy who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He was described as being aged between 16 and 18, with short brown hair shaved at the side, of thin build and was wearing a white shirt, a black hoodie, beige cargo pants and joggers.
