Police appeal after alleged domestic attack left woman unconscious on street

Police are appealing for witnesses to a possible domestic violence assault after a female was found unconscious in Port Macquarie earlier this week.

On the evening of Sunday 19 June, a 30-year-old female was located in Bay Street near Ballina Street in Port Macquarie.

Unknown passersby located the injured woman, who was unconscious and suffering possible head injuries, and contacted Port Macquarie Police Station.


The victim returned to her home after she was woken by these unknown people and has since spoken to police.

Police believe the incident could be domestic violence related.

Port Macquarie Crime Manager, Detective Chief Inspector Steve Clarke, is appealing for witnesses to the assault.

An elderly couple are believed to have witnessed the assault and contacted police at the time of the event. Police are urging this couple to make contact again.
