A MAN who was savagely beaten on the Tweed at the weekend has died on the Gold Coast.
It’s alleged the 48-year-old man was involved in an altercation with another person near a licensed premises on Wharf Street around 6.15pm last Saturday.
He was initially rushed to Tweed Head Hospital with head injuries, but later transfered to Gold Coast University Hospital.

He died as a result of his injuries on Tuesday.
Detectives from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command have formed Strike Force Findo to investigate the man’s death and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the altercation, or who has information to assist, to come forward.
