Police appeal for information after family dog shot in NSW

POLICE are appealing for information after a family dog was shot in southern New South Wales.

The owners of four-year-old Labrador, Willow, found their beloved pooch with a wound on its left side on Sunday night.

They took the dog to the vet, who removed an air rifle pellet during emergency surgery.

Willow is now said to be in a stable condition but has suffered internal injuries as a result of the shooting.

The vet has advised police the dog was likely shot earlier that day.

Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
