Police appeal for witnesses after man dies in Riverwood laneway

UPDATE: POLICE have released a photo of a man who made a Triple-0 call to say a man was injured in a nearby laneway.

About 12.50am on Wednesday, emergency services were called to a laneway following reports of a man injured on the ground.

Ambulance paramedics treated 20-year-old Rodolph “Roddy” Carino, at the scene, before he was taken to St George Hospital where he died a short time later from head injuries.

A crime scene was established and detectives are now investigating the circumstances surrounding his death and are calling for witnesses to come forward.

In particular, detectives would like to speak with the man who made a Triple 0 call from a payphone outside a gym on Belmore Road at 12.38am (pictrued above).

Detectives believe this man may be able to provide information that could assist their investigation.
