Teens injured after car slams into power pole in Elanora

Police are appealing for witnesses as they continue to investigate a serious crash in Elanora overnight.

The accident happened around 9.45pm on Saturday, when a 17-year-old boy lost control of the Subaru Outback he was driving.

Police say the vehicle then left the road before colliding with a power pole.

Four teenagers were treated at the scene, including a 16-year-old male passenger who suffered a serious head injury.

He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, while a fellow passenger, also aged 16, sustained minor injuries and was taken stable.

The 17-year-old male driver and a 16-year-old male passenger managed to escape unharmed, but were also taken to hospital for precautionary measures

Detectives are now asking anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dashcam footage to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
