Police appeal for witnesses to fatal boxing fight

Police investigating the fatal boxing title fight at Ingleburn earlier this month are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the match to come forward.

About 11pm on Friday 11 September 2015 two men had been involved in a fight for a super featherweight title at a registered club in Ingleburn.

The bout was scheduled to go for twelve, three minute rounds.

Following the completion of the eleventh round and 30 seconds into the final round, 28-year-old Davey Browne, was knocked to the canvas.

He was treated at the scene by a doctor and Ambulance Paramedics who transported him to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

He died on Tuesday 15 September 2015.

Officers attached to Macquarie Fields Local Area Command are continuing their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident and would like anyone who watched the fight to contact Macquarie Fields Police on (02) 9605 0499 or Crime Stoppers.

A report is currently being prepared for the Coroner.
