Police appeal for witnesses to serious crash in NSW

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious crash near Moree yesterday.

About 11.20am Tuesday 15 September 2015, a Ford Falcon travelling south on the Newell Highway, about 10km north of Moree, collided with a Kia Cerato travelling north.

The 18-year-old man driving the Ford Falcon was taken to Moree Hospital for treatment to spinal injuries.


The18-year-old and 17-year male passengers were treated at the same hospital for minor injuries.

The 30-year-old woman driving the Kia suffered minor injuries and the nine-year-old male passenger was treated for abdominal injuries.

A one-year-old boy who was also a passenger in the Kia was taken to Moree Hospital in a serious conditional with spinal injuries.

Police from Tamworth Crash Investigation Unit attended and are conducting inquiries into the crash.

Whilst still under investigation, police are investigating claims the Ford Falcon may have been driven inappropriately prior to the collision.

Police are appealing for anyone on the road at the time who may have seen anything that could assist the investigation, to come forward and contact police.
