Police appeal for help to identify man after child assaulted in Ipswich shop

DETECTIVES are hoping members of the public will be able to help them identify a man after a young child was assaulted at a shop in North Ipswich on Saturday.

The shocking incident happened just after 5.00pm, at a retail business on the corner of The Terrace and Downs Street.

Police say a parent of the child confronted the man about his actions, with the man running off from the store.

The child was not physically injured during the incident.

Police are appealing for anyone who may be able to identify the man (pictured) or knows of his whereabouts to contact police.
