POLICE are appealing for information to help identify a man who drowned at a beach in Sydney’s north on Saturday.
The man was found unconscious in the water at Freshwater Beach just before 5pm. Paramedics worked frantically to revive the man, but he could not be saved.
Sadly, he died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

Police said the man is believed to have been aged in his mid-forties and was wearing green boardshorts and a pair of Speedos when he was pulled from the water.
Anyone with information on the man’s identity is urged to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
Police said the man’s death was not being treated as suspicious.
