Police appeal to identify Bulldogs fan who punched officer during NRL semi-final
Police investigating the behaviour of a number of fans at an NRL game have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.
During last Friday’s (18 September 2015) NRL semi-final between the Sydney Roosters and Canterbury Bulldogs at Allianz Stadium, a small number of fans were involved in a confrontation with security guards and police.
Detectives are investigating the incident and have identified most of the people involved.
Police have today released an image of a man who they believe can assist with their inquiries.
He is described as being of Mediterranean / Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his late 20s or early 30s, of medium build, with short dark hair and a full beard.
At last Friday’s game he was wearing a Canterbury Bulldogs football jersey and dark pants.
The image of the man has been sourced from mobile phone vision posted on a number of social media sites. One of the officers involved in the incident was wearing Body Worn Video, however it was obstructed during the confrontation and did not capture a clear image of the man.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to these incidents to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
