Police are appealing for witnesses after a young boy was bitten by a dog in Sydney’s north-west this afternoon.
The 5-year-old boy was reported missing from his backyard on Alamein Avenue in Carlingford around 1.30pm.
Shortly after, emergency services were called to the same street following reports of an injured child.

The youngster was treated at the scene for a deep cut to his lip before being taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead for further treatment.
Police are now appealing for witnesses after being told the boy was bitten by a dog in a car, after the driver stopped to assist him.
The vehicle has been described only as a charcoal-coloured sedan.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
