Police appeal for witnesses to fatal jet-ski crash in Qld

Police are appealing for witnesses after an international tourist was killed in a jetski crash in waters in north Queensland last week.

The 29-year-old was riding a jet-ski when she collided with a moored boat on Thursday September 22.

“Initial inquiries indicate at about 9.15am a jet-ski rider has collided with a vessel which was moored at the Cairns Marlin Marina,” police said in a statement.

Witnesses rushed to the woman’s aid and pulled her from the water, however she died at the scene.

Investigators have requested that any witnesses to the incident, particularly anyone that may have photographs or video footage, to contact Police Forensic Investigators.
