Police appeal after young girl approached by man in Sydney food court

Police are appealing for information after a young girl was approached by a man while sitting in the food court of a Sydney shopping centre yesterday.

About 7.30am, the 13-year-old was sitting at a fast food restaurant inside the shopping complex on Hamilton Road at Fairfield West when a man got up from his seat and sat down next to her.

Police allege the man then tried to touch the girl, however she stood up and walked into another restaurant to report the incident to staff.

Officers are now on the hunt for the man.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 50 to 60 years old, 170-180cm tall with a large build and appeared cross-eyed.

He was last seen wearing a grey hooded top and dark tracksuit pants with white stripes on the side.
