Police arrest man over gunpoint robbery in Robina

POLICE have swooped on a Coomera home this morning to arrest a man in connection to a gunpoint robbery in Robina earlier this month.

Around 9.00pm on Monday February 5th, a 28-year-old Varsity Lakes man met up with a 22-year-old Coomera man, who was known to him, to try and sell him two gold chains.

The 28-year-old got into the 22-year-old’s vehicle and the pair have driven around Robina for a short period of time, before a another man, who was not known to the 28-year-old, got in to the car.

The driver then pulled over on Heights Road before pulling out a firearm and demanding the two gold chains from the 28-year-old.

He then ordered the victim get out of the car before he and the other man in the car drove off with the chains.

On Wednesday morning, police raided a home on Jimmy Road in Coomera where they arrested a 22-year-old man.

He is currently being questioned by police.
