UPDATE @ 10.00am: A 19-year-old man has been charged with a string of offences including assault with intent to commit rape after snatching a 6-year-old girl from her bed in Loganlea earlier this week.
The young man broke into the Pinelands Drive home around 5.00am on Monday by reaching through a dog flap to unlock a back door.
He then made his way upstairs, past the young girl’s sleeping parents, and into the room of the six-year-old.

He then removed the child from her bed and carried her downstairs to the lounge-room.
Sergeant Grant Ralston said at a press conference earlier this week that the child thought she was being moved by her parents and it “wasn’t until she was in the downstairs area that she realised it wasn’t.”
Luckily, the youngster managed to let out a loud scream which alerted her mother and father.
Police say the intruder then punched the young girl in the face before fleeing the home on a BMX bike.
Detectives from the Logan District Child Investigation and Protection Unit executed a search
warrant on a Haig Street address last night where they located the man and took him into custody.
Police said further investigations revealed the man is also alleged to have broken into a Spruce Street home around 11.00pm the following night, by cutting the flyscreen to a rear bedroom window.
“He then located a backpack containing a number of items including a credit card,” police said in a statement.
“The man was then confronted by the occupant before fleeing the residence through the same
window with the backpack and credit card, which he used at two service stations to buy a number of items.”
The Loganlea man has since been charged with one count each of assault with intent to
commit rape, enter dwelling with intent, stealing, armed robbery, burglary, two counts of assault
occasioning bodily harm and three counts of fraud.
He has also been charged with armed robbery and assault occasioning bodily harm following ongoing investigations into the hold up of a Morningside bottle shop in July last year.
The man has been denied police bail and is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court this morning.
