Police bust teenage drug ring during routine traffic stop

GOLD COAST POLICE have allegedly busted a teenage ring accused of supplying cannabis to school children.

They uncovered the group when they pulled over a man for not wearing a helmet on his a bike in Varsity Lakes on Saturday night.

During the routine traffic stop, police discovered a 200-gram packet of cannabis stashed in the 19-year-old’s pants.


It was later revealed he was on his way to deliver drugs to a school girl as part of a home-delivery run.

The 16-year-old schoolgirl later told police she planned to divide the cannabis and sell it to her school mates.

The Robina man appeared in Southport Magistrates court yesterday on 24 charges, including trafficking, supply and possession of a dangerous drug.

He was granted bail and will reappear for mention on November 19.
