Detective Inspector David Isherwood, from Toowoomba Police, said investigations indicated there was no further threat to public safety.
“I must stress that we are in the early stages of our investigation however it would appear that two of the deaths are suspicious and the death of the man is non suspicious,” he said.
Police would not reveal details about the family but say the woman was heavily pregnant.
“At this point in time we are not going to disclose anything about the family.
“Really close members of the family haven’t been able to be contacted and as you would appreciate they don’t want to hear of this tragedy over the media or from the media,” Mr Isherwood said.
There are reports it may have been a murder suicide but police only confirmed they are looking at it as a murder at this early stage.
Further forensic testing will take place today.
