Police car smashed by bandits throwing objects at M1 traffic

POLICE are appealing for information after one of their patrol cars and a second vehicle were targeted by people throwing objects off an overpass and onto the Pacific Motorway over the weekend.

At approximately 12.25am on Saturday, a taxi driving south on the M1 in the far left lane passed under the Underwood Road overpass near Rochedale when an unknown object hit the roof of the cab near the front windscreen.

The impact cracked the windscreen and caused damage to the bonnet and headlight.

Police investigations have so far revealed that three people were seen in the vicinity of the incident throwing items onto the Motorway.

It is believed they may have been driving a small blue car displaying P-Plates.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area at around the time of the incidents to please contact them.
