Police crackdown on drivers using mobile phones

Queensland drivers who repeatedly use their mobile phones while driving will face tougher penalties from Tuesday.

Police will now issue double demerit points for drivers caught using a mobile phone behind the wheel two or more times in a year.

The fine is $353 and six demerit points.
