Police dig up half-a-million-dollar cannabis crop

POLICE have destroyed half-a-million dollars worth of marijuana found growing on a property on the NSW Mid North Coast.

Officers allegedly found 200 cannabis plants and 5.3kg of harvested cannabis during a raid on Bennett’s Road property at Coffs Harbour yesterday afternoon.

Police also allegedly also found 195 grams of cannabis seeds, two slingshots and ammunition.

Police said the estimated potential street value of the cannabis is $500,000.

A 49-year-old man was arrested and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where he was charged with a long list of offences, including supplying cannabis and possessing a prohibited drug.

The man was also charged with possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit and possessing ammunition.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Monday, May 28.
