Police find 1kg of ‘ice’ in car boot during random traffic stop in NSW Riverina

MORE than one kilogram of the destructive drug ‘ice’ has been found stashed in the boot of a car during a random traffic stop in the NSW Riverina.

Cootamundra Police stopped the Mitsubishi ASX on the Hume Highway at Jugiong shortly before 6pm last night.

During a search of the car, officers allegedly located in excess of 1kg of methylamphetamine (ice) in the boot.

The driver, a 37-year-old man, and passenger, a 19-year-old man, were both arrested and taken to Gundagai Police Station where they were each charged with possessing and supplying a commercial quantity of drugs.

Both men were refused bail and are due to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court today.
