Police find ‘fake gun’ hidden down man’s pants at Sydney Shopping Centre
A man is due to appear in court today after being charged with possessing a firearm in a shopping centre at St Marys.
Police say that around 2.30pm yesterday, three men entered a phone shop in a shopping centre on Charles Hackett Drive with their faces covered.
Officers were called to the scene and spoke to a 21-year-old man and his two 19-year-old friends.
During a search of the 21-year-old police allegedly located a replica pistol hidden in the man’s pants.
All the men were arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station.
The 21-year-old man was later charged with possess unauthorised firearm and refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today.
Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
