Police find guns and drugs at home in Sydney’s west

A man is due to appear in a Sydney court on Friday charged with numerous firearm and drug-related offences.

Police executed search warrants at a home in Fearn Street, Toongabbie, shortly after 11am on Wednesday.

The Pro-Active Crime Team have been conducting an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs within the area.


When police entered the home they allegedly located and seized a shortened double barrel shotgun, drugs and drug paraphernalia, a replica pistol, and ammunition.

About an hour later, a 29-year-old man was arrested in Erby Street, Parramatta, and was taken to Merrylands Police Station.

The man has now been charged with possess shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority, possess unauthorised firearm, not keep firearm safely – prohibited firearm, possess ammunition w/o holding licence/permit/authority, possess prohibited drug, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit and possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance.

The man has been bail refused to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Thursday.
