Police find missing taser

UPDATE : Queensland police have found a Taser that went missing after an absent-minded officer put it on the roof of a patrol car and drove off.
They say the weapon was recovered on Tuesday but not where.

EARLIER: Police are on the hunt for a taser, which was taken from an address in Woodridge yesterday.

Around 3pm, an officer was leaving the crime scene of a house fire in Mikaga Court when he placed a container with a Taser inside on the top of his vehicle before driving away.

Police say that after realising the error, the officer immediately returned to the location and found the plastic container on nearby Nyanza Street, however, the X26 Taser (pictured) and associated cartridges were missing.

Officers conducted an extensive search of the area but failed to locate the items.

Police are urging anyone is possession of the device to contact police immediately or anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
