Police find secret pot crop in Gold Coast home

POLICE have uncovered a secret stash of marijuana plants being grown behind a dummy wall inside a Gold Coast home.

The Rapid Action Policing squad stormed the home on Galleon Way in Currumbin Waters yesterday morning and seized 15 fully mature plants before noticing a distinct smell coming from the walls.

Officers smashed through the false wall and found a sophisticated hydroponic setup inside the secret room, feeding a smaller generation of marijuana plants.

The Bulletin reports that two men were arrested and charged with production and possession of a dangerous drug.

The rapid action squad hit the southern suburban streets after a sudden increase in crime was detected.
