Police find weapons stash during traffic stop

A man will appear in court this morning after police allegedly found weapons in his car after pulling him over in Bundall.

According to initial reports, police intercepted the vehicle around 9.10pm in relation to an unknown traffic offence.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found to have ammunition on him and a firearm was also found stashed in the car.


A 30-year-old Broadbeach Waters man has been charged with possession of a category D/H/R weapon, authority to possess explosives (ammunition) and receiving tainted property.

He will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.
