Police hunt for gunman in Burleigh
POLICE are patrolling through Burleigh Heads after a tradesman reported he had been threatened by a man with a gun at his worksite.
According to initial reports, the tradie was at work at a home on Joan Street when he went to his ute to grab something.
When he walked outside he saw a man with a gun standing near his car, who made threats against him.
The young tradie made a run for it, apparently jumping over the fences of neighbouring homes to escape the gunman.
He finally came to a stop at an elderly man’s house where he called police.
A couple of the workmen told police the gunman left the scene in a red station wagon.
The Police Helicopter has been brought in but so far there’s no sight of him.
