UPDATE @ April 28, by Monique StClair | Police have released CCTV footage of a terrifying armed robbery of a Southport chemist.
A man armed with a firearm entered a chemist on Nerang Street just before 10.00 pm on Monday night.
He made demands for money and prescription medication from the store attendant, who appears to be wielding an object in defence.

The man, fully covered in dark clothing, takes a quantity of cash and fled the business in an easterly direction along Nerang Street.
No one was physically injured in the incident, but police are continuing to look for the thief.
Anyone with information about the man or the incident is being urged to contact police.
EARLIER @ 7.00AM, April 17, by Matt McDonald | A worker has escaped injury after a terrifying armed hold-up at a chemist in Southport.
A man armed with a firearm entered the chemist on Nerang St around 9.50pm on Monday night.
The man demanded money and prescription medications from the store employee.
The worker handed over a sum of cash before the man fled the store.
He was last seen running east along Nerang St.
The worker was unharmed during the robbery.
Investigations are continuing.
