Police on the hunt for heartless thief after man in wheelchair robbed

A heartless thief remains at large after allegedly robbing a man in a wheelchair at Guildford.

Police said that around 9.30pm Wednesday 7 September, a 37-year-old man in a wheelchair got off a train at Guildford Railway Station and travelled through the underpass.

A short time later a man in the tunnel approached and helped the man up the ramp before asking to use his phone.

When the man in the wheelchair handed his mobile phone over, the man allegedly stole the phone and ran away.

Investigations into the robbery are ongoing, with police appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, 170cm to 180cm tall, in his late 20s or early 30s.

He was wearing a dark hooded jumper, dark pants, baseball cap and a black and red basketball Jersey with “Chicago 23” motif.
