Police hunt knife-wielding man after Burleigh Heads hold-up
POLICE are searching for a man who robbed a Burleigh Heads convenience store at knife-point overnight.
The man entered the Second Avenue store just after 7pm and threatened the attended with a knife.
He then walked behind the counter and stole a stash of cash from the register before fleeing.
Fortunately, no one was physically injured during the hold-up.
It came just two hours after a chemist was robbed at Southport.
The Marine Parade pharmacy was hit just after 5pm.
Police said a man made off with cash and a bottle of methadone.
Investigations into both incidents are continuing.
Police have not yet released a description of the offenders.
