POLICE are searching for a man accused of assaulting a 9-year-old girl in outback Queensland.
The child was approached by an unknown man on Isa Street at Mount Isa around 5.30pm on Thursday.
The man started speaking to the girl before violently grabbing onto her shoulder, police said.

Terrified, police said the 9-year-old girl reacted and bit the man, causing him to let go and run away.
The little girl needed to be treated by paramedics for a minor injury to her shoulder.
The man is described as having a dark complexion, being aged in his 30s and around 160cms tall.
He has a black beard and was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper and black shorts. and a distinctive blue, white and gold coloured necklace.
The man was also reportedly wearing a distinctive blue, white and gold coloured necklace.
