Police hunt this man after glassing at Byron Bay restaurant
POLICE have released CCTV images of a man wanted after allegedly smashing a glass over the head of another man at a restaurant in Byron Bay last weekend.
The incident is alleged to have occurred inside a restaurant on Lawson Street around 8.45pm on Saturday 3 September.
Police said initial investigations suggested a 55-year-old man was hit in the head with a glass.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Byron Bay hospital for treatment.
A crime scene was established and CCTV footage seized from the premises.
Following investigations, police have released two still images (above) of a man who they say may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 30-years-old with a solid build and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved green shirt.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
