Police hunt man wanted over “indecent act” on beach near Coffs Harbour

DETECTIVES are searching for a middle-aged man who was allegedly seen committing an act of indecency towards a group of young girls at a beach near Coffs Harbour on Tuesday.

Police said the girls aged 12 and 13 were sitting on Corindi Beach around 12.30pm when a man came and sat next to them and committed the indecent act.

The girls left and reported the matter to police who conducted a patrol of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.


Police are now appealing for information to help locate the man, described as being aged in his 40s or 50s, about 170cm tall and with a solid build.

He is further described as having short hair, facial stubble and a tanned complexion.

As investigations continue, police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
