Mr Reeve was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Police are now on the hunt for those responsible for the attack, with some reports a man was spotted running into nearby bushes immediately afterwards. They are appealing for witnesses who might have seen the victim’s car, a Toyota Camry with NSW plates BM52VZ, on Baratta Street at about 7.45am to come forward. Police believe the same car was at the scene of an earlier altercation outside Gold Coast University Hospital on Saturday.
The incident is not thought to be related to Schoolies Week celebrations taking place in nearby Surfers Paradise.
