Police hunt teen after Coffs Harbour cab driver robbed at knifepoint

POLICE are hunting a teenage boy who allegedly robbed a taxi driver at knifepoint in Coffs Harbour overnight.

Shortly after midnight, police say a taxi was called to Kurrajong Street where the driver was approached by a teenager described as being Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance who allegedly threatened him with a bladed weapon.

The cab driver handed over a small amount of cash to the teen before driving away uninjured.

Police have been told the young offender was about 16 or 17 years old, was 175cm tall, and was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper and long pants.
