Police hunt trio who brutally bashed man who refused to give them a smoke

POLICE are still trying to track down three thugs who brutally bashed a man until he was unconscious in Sydney because he refused to give them a cigarette.

The trio allegedly asked the 23-year-old man for a smoke in Rushcutters Bay Park on Thursday, August 24.

After saying no, the trio is accused of repeatedly punching and kicking the man until he lost consciousness.Police

While lying unresponsive on the ground, the trio allegedly stole the man’s smokes and prevented him from calling for help by smashing his phone.

Despite extensive investigations, police have been unable to identify the three men responsible.

The first man is described as being about 26-years-old, 180cm tall, with a large build, shaved black hair, and olive skin. He was wearing pants and a red t-shirt at the time of the attack.

The other two men are described as being about 23 years of age and of Caucasian appearance.

One of then is about 170cm tall, with a medium build and medium-length black hair. He was wearing a white shirt.

Due to the popularity of the park, police believe there would have been a large number of witnesses.

Investigators are now appealing for anyone who was in the park around the time of the assault to come forward.
