Police on the hunt for van after frightening child approach in NSW

Two girls have been left traumatised following a frightening child approach in NSW on Wednesday.

Police said the alleged incident occurred whilst the girls, aged 12 and 15, were waiting at a bus stop at Bowenfalls with a number of younger children.

“The girls have told police a van drove past several times, pulling up until other cars drove down the street,” police said in a statement.

“On one of those occasions, the driver opened the door and gestured for the girls to approach him.”

Once the bus arrived, the van then took off.

Following investigations, police would now like to speak to a man described as being aged in his 30s to 40s, and was possibly driving a white 1985 VW Kombi van with a silver bull bar, silver hub caps and red or pink curtains in the back window.

Anyone who can assist police is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
