Police hunting gunman after Palm Beach robbery

POLICE are on the hunt for an armed thief who robbed a Palm Beach convenience store in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

According to police, a man entered the Night Owl on the Gold Coast Highway around 12.15am, pulled his jacket over his head, produced a handgun and made demands for money and property from the male employee.

It’s understood he fled the store with cash and cigarettes.

There were no customers in the store at the time of the robbery and nobody was injured in the incident.

The offender is described as being aged in his early 20’s, Caucasion, approximately 180 cm tall with a slim build.
