Police hunting man who offered children ‘lollies’ in suburban park

Investigations are underway after a man approached two young children while they were playing in a park and offered them lollies.

The pair, aged 10 and 9, were at Riverside Park on Murray Street in Barham when the stranger walked up to them and made the suspicious gesture just after 5.00pm.

The children were so scared that they ran from the man, who then left the park in an unknown direction.

Detectives are now hoping to speak to a man who they believe may be able to assist them with inquiries.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance and 40-years-old. He is 180cm tall with a medium build, fair skin and blonde scruffy shoulder length hair.

Anyone who may have further information is urged to come forward.
